Ammar Al Alousi
Ammar Al Alousi is a Senior Data Center Operations leader at Microsoft, where he oversees a large multi-facility campus portfolio in the Northern Virginia corridor — the most concentrated data center region in the world. His day-to-day involves the kind of operational complexity that most IT frameworks only describe from a distance.
Before Microsoft, Ammar served in senior roles at Amazon Web Services in both Cloud Support Engineering and Network Infrastructure, and at Zayo Group, one of North America's largest fiber network providers. His career also includes international assignments with the United Nations and the Iraqi government.
He is bilingual in English and Arabic and has worked across the United States, the Middle East, and internationally throughout his career. He is currently a PhD candidate at Virginia Tech, where his research continues to bridge academic rigor with operational practice.
Ammar holds certifications in project management (PMP), process improvement (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt), IT service management (ITIL), and cloud platforms, reflecting a career-long commitment to staying current across every dimension of modern IT operations.
He is the author of two books in the 365 Technical Series and is an active voice on LinkedIn on leadership, operations management, and building high-performance IT teams.
